Mon, 30 January 2006 Okay everybody, I open the show with a confession. In this episode, I talk about slips and stumbles, and how building a support network and an accountability system can keep a stumble from turning into a fall. More specifically, how you all keep me going! Thanks to everyone who has been writing (christiana.ellis "at" gmail.com), and special thanks to Summer for getting my butt back on the exercise bike on Saturday. Thanks also to Rhachel for sending the link to the Powerseed, a nifty little gadget. Also be sure to check out my Updated Spreadsheet! Comments[3] |
Tue, 24 January 2006 A new show and a new health, now that I'm over my cold.
I lost a little ground this week, but I'm more committed than ever. After updating my progress (Check out the latest spreadsheet), I talk about beating the plateau, portion control, chewing gum, and then give a shout out to some of my fellow podcasters who are also doing weight-loss updates: Adam at Burning 20, CDogg at Riding with the Window Down, Rob at Podcast 411, and Gary at the Podcast Pickle Show. UPDATE! The file should be fixed now. My apologies for the corrupted version. Comments[0] |
Tue, 17 January 2006 Hey everybody, sorry the show's late, but I've been sick. But there's a silver lining, because not only have I completed the first month of my six-month plan, but I'm once again below my target weight!
I've also got a new toy: After showing that off, I talk a little bit about how I stuck to my diet at a fancy party, and then about how a little detail this morning just made my whole day. And check out my updated spreadsheet for Day 32 of 183!Links: Rob from Podcast411 Andrew from Working Podcast Comments[0] |
Wed, 11 January 2006 Hey everybody!
Day 26 of 183, and I hit a little bit of a slump so I step up the exercise with some yoga from YogAmazing! Check out my latest spreadsheet. Comments[1] |
Fri, 6 January 2006 Hi everybody!
Post-Holiday show! Christiana has a special guest: Herself, only in the kitchen! She prepares a healthy (and delicious) vegetable stir-fry using Quorn, a meat substitute. She also updates her progress, talks a little bit about her exercise plans, and then reads some feedback from Erika on Podcast Pickle and Denise, who commented on the website. Here's the updated spreadsheet! (Should actually be updated this time!) Comments[1] |
Sat, 31 December 2005 Hey everybody!
Getting this one up a little later than planned, but it's double-sized! Got lots of good stuff in this one. First and foremost, an update of my progress for Day 15 of 183! Next, I talk a little bit about some of the things I've been doing over the holidays to keep eating healthy and to keep active, including a slide show of photos taken on one of my walks. (See the photos on my Flickr stream here) Lots of feedback too! (Thanks everybody!) Clinton from Comedy4Cast writes in about "rewards". Jason, from The Half Show, writes with compliments and about remembering that the focus should be on living healthy and feeling good, rather that only looking at the number on the scale. Caroline in NH, comments about her own plans for weight loss and leaves some words of encouragement. Jack from the Kickass Podcast cheers me on and suggests drinking lots of water. And Mike, my cohost over at Christiana Talks About Stuff talked me into providing full body "before" shots, so here they are, taken Day 13. And here's my updated spreadsheet! Comments[0] |
